I’m going all the way. And now you’re almost out of view.

When I daydreamed about moving to California, I imagined moving to Los Angeles. I would be the one family member who moved away from Indiana and become a famous movie actress and model. The image of me taking that famous photo bending down at my star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame was etched in my mind as clear as day.

No matter what happened since my childhood, something in me always knew that I would live on the west coast. It was a feeling I just could not shake!

MOM: “Are we still in Texas???” ME: “Yes, we are!” 🤣🤣

MOM: “Are we still in Texas???” ME: “Yes, we are!” 🤣🤣

What I didn’t realize was that I would walk into the dream down an unpredictable path. Instead of moving straight to Hollywood, I started off further south in San Diego. Rather than chasing my dream of the performing arts, I would be pursuing my hope of improving my health. When I imagined traveling to the west by myself, the reality is that my Mom ended up joining for the ride.

Before the trip, my relationship with my mom was damaged and distant. In this episode, you will hear the behind the scenes stories of what happened on the road and the lessons we both learned. From the scares of driving across country with car issues to rebuilding my relationship with my Mom, this episode will show how chasing your hopes and dreams may unfold in ways you did not expect while also being everything you need.
